Rim Ambience

Purpose: To see how the overall photo will change when we change aperture (controls flash and depth of field) and shutter speed (controls ambient light--the light you see, like sunlight). We took a meter reading, found out our normal exposure, put it in a chart then filled out all of the other boxes which had anywhere from -1 amb to +2 amb, and -1 flash to +2 flash.

Set up: There was a "rim light" flash set up 135 degrees camera right, all other directional ambient light was coming from the left (he's sitting in open shade).



Normal exposure, no flash. Default picture.

-1 ambient, -1 flash

-1 ambient, +2 flash

Normal ambient, -1 flash

+1 ambient, -1 flash

My favorite? Normal ambient, normal flash.

I know I got a little soft on the +1 ambients... oh well :\
